The Benedict XVI Institute How-To-Teach-A-Children's-Chant-Camp Workshop

Formed by Archbishop Cordileone to "open the door to God through beauty", the Benedict XVI Institute  for Sacred Music and Divine Worship has begun to offer practical as well as beautiful and inspiring ways to bring the beauty of our faith and worship alive through truly sacred music and the arts. Beauty evangelizes! Hearts not disposed to hear Truth can be softened, shaped, and converted by an encounter with authentic Beauty and Goodness. ​It is a great blessing to have such a powerful force for good at work in our local Church!

Evangelize through Beauty! Be it the beauty of simplicity or the richness of splendor, Beauty reflects God Himself

Three members of the Community attended a recent workshop intended to teach music instructors how to conduct a Chant Camp for children and teens. Designed to teach children to pray the Mass and encounter Christ truly present as well as giving them the musical confidence to sing the Mass propers and parts, the Chant Camp model provides much needed formation for children and instructors alike. The Sisters were delighted make new friends at the Benedict XVI Institute, friendships founded upon a common vision to magnify Jesus Christ in union with Mary through communicating the Beauty, Goodness, and Truth of our Faith by joyful evangelization and the fullness of the liturgical life. We look forward to strengthening these ties, supporting the mission of the Institute and drawing upon its resources to enrich our own worship and evangelization.
