In our community, August 22 tends to be one of our favorite days of the liturgical year. For on this day, Holy Mother Church celebrates two great Marian feasts.
As the Sisters are about their respective duties behind closed doors - in the refectory, kitchen or chapel - they may periodically hear, "scratch .... scratch, scratch, scratch." This familiar sound is our little dog's attempt at communicating with the Sisters on the other side of the door. It usually means one of two things: "I'd like to come in" or "I'd like to see what's on the other side."
With great joy, we welcomed new sisters into our religious community on Thursday, the Feast of the Transfiguration.
“I will never leave you.
My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge
and the way that will lead you to God.”
