The Glorious Mysteries

10/31/2020

The glory of God is our supreme end, what all creation groans for in expectation. By grace we begin to share in that glory which shall be fulfilled in the eternal bliss of union with the Holy Trinity. Let us join with Our Mother, Mediatrix of all Graces and St. Louis Marie de Montfort in meditating on our blessed hope in the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
The First Glorious Mystery:
The Resurrection of Our Lord

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this decade in honor of Thy glorious Resurrection; and we ask of Thee, through this mystery, and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, love of God and fervor in Thy service. Amen.
On that Good Friday night, the world was left in despair as it seemed that sin and death had the victory. But with the dawn, new hope arises as the message is spread: “He is risen!” The love of God has conquered even the great enemy that is death. New life is begun in the Risen Jesus; and those who encounter Him are compelled by love of Christ to do as He asks, “Go and tell my brethren.” Filled with fervor, the messengers spread the good news of Love’s victory and of new life in Christ.

Mary, our life, grant us a share in the divine life of your Son, and the zeal to share that life with others.

The Second Glorious Mystery
The Ascension

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this decade in honor of Thy triumphant Ascension into Heaven; and we ask of Thee, through this mystery, and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, a greater desire for Heaven, our true home. Amen.

After forty days, Our Lord completes His triumph by ascending into the clouds of glory in the presence of His disciples. In heaven, the Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of His Father and our Father, exalted in His humanity with all glory, power, and dominion. But far from forgetting those He left behind on earth, He forever intercedes for us, and He prepares for us a place in His Father’s house, to share forever in His life and happiness.

Mary, Mother of Holy Hope, grant us a lively confidence in the promises of Jesus.
The Third Glorious Mystery
The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this decade in honor of the mystery of Pentecost; and we ask of Thee, through this mystery, and through the intercession of Thy holy Mother, the coming of the Holy Spirit into our souls. Amen.
In patient expectation, the Apostles join Mary, the Mother of Jesus, in prayer for nine days; there, their hearts were open to receive the Spirit of promise, of adoption, of the love and life of God, Who comes to them in power and glory, wind and fire. The Holy Spirit comes to and remains with them and us as the Spirit of truth, reminding us of all that Jesus taught, and enabling us to bear witness to the nations by our words and our life, witnessing to the transforming power of God’s grace.

Mary, Queen of Apostles, open our hearts in prayer to receive the Holy Spirit and spread the message of divine love.

The Fourth Glorious Mystery
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this decade in honor of Thy Holy Mother’s Assumption; and we ask of Thee, through this mystery, and through her intercession, a tender devotion for so good a Mother. Amen.

The Son of God has no greater love for any of His creatures than He has for His Mother. She who was perfectly united with her Son on earth would continue to be conformed to Him in heavenly glory. Mary, taken body and soul into heaven, is our everlasting hope, that where she has gone, we may follow; and this most perfect and loving Mother will do all in her power to bring God’s plan of salvation to fulfillment in the lives of her beloved children.

Mary, assumed into heaven, turn your eyes of mercy toward us, and be our refuge in this vale of tears as we await the joy of being united with you in eternity.
The Fifth Glorious Mystery
The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We offer Thee, O Lord Jesus, this decade in honor of Thy Holy Mother’s coronation; and we ask of Thee, through this mystery, and through her intercession, perseverance in grace and a crown of glory hereafter. Amen.
She who is the Mother of grace must also be the Queen of glory; the King of heaven and earth crowns His queen-mother with the highest of privileges, the greatest of honors. In heaven, Mary continues her mission as Co-redemptrix in union with her Son, being both Queen and Mediatrix of all grace, in order to bring all men to salvation and conformity with the Lord Jesus. Following in the path of Mary, we are sure to be on the easy, short, secure, and perfect road that leads to the blessed glory of the Holy Trinity.

Mary, Queen of All Hearts, conform us to the image of your Son in grace, that we might reign with Him and with you in glory.
O God, Whose Only-Begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries o the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, ora pro nobis!
