O Mary, Help Us Follow Jesus

"The Assumption reminds us that Mary’s life, like that of every Christian, is a journey of following, following Jesus, a journey that has a very precise destination, a future already marked out: the definitive victory over sin and death and full communion with God, because as Paul says in his Letter to the Ephesians the Father 'raised us up with Him, and made us sit with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus' (Eph 2: 6) ...

In us, union with Christ's resurrection is incomplete, but for the Virgin Mary it is complete, despite the journey that Our Lady also had to make. She has entered into the fullness of union with God, with her Son, she draws us on-wards and accompanies us on our journey."

​Seeking to follow Jesus in the footprints of Our Lady on the journey to holiness, our aspirants take their next step in religious life and become postulants. These new sisters are clothed in the specific garb of a postulant of the Marian Sisters of Santa Rosa. Ceremonially, the Sister is placed under the patronage of our Immaculate Queen through investiture in the Medal of the Immaculate Conception which each Sister wears over her heart as a sign of her consecration to Jesus through Mary.

Through God's Divine providence, we have been able to continue a tradition close to the heart of our community. The medals the sisters receive were placed on the chair where Our Lady first appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in Rue Du Bac, France. 

May Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception pray for our new sisters and keep them under the protection of her mantle as they enter their postulancy, where they will become familiar with the customs of our community and further discern God's will for their life as a Marian Sister of Santa Rosa.
