Magnificat Days

O Jesus, present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, come into my heart!

These sweet words to the heart of Jesus was frequently heard resounding from the lips of little ones. Last weekend, our sisters had the wonderful opportunity of traveling to Fort Bragg - in the spirit of Our Lady's Visitation - to bring back Magnificat Days to the parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel. 

Magnificat Days is the Marian Sister's take on a Catholic summer camp, where the focus for this year was Jesus' True Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. Split according to age level, each group learned a variety of lessons. Activities ranged from "make your own monstrance," saint of the day particularly devoted to the Holy Eucharist, and even mini decade rosaries.

The week also focused on the culminating event: a Eucharistic Procession! To prepare, the children learned how sacred hymn familiar used during a Eucharistic adoration and procession, what a double genuflection is and how to do it, and of course, how to properly process - always the best for our Lord!

To make the week a bit more special, two of our diocesan seminarians came up to teach the young boys how to serve Holy Mass and in a procession. It truly was an honor for them - and how happy it must have made our Lord! ​

Topping of a wonderful week, on their way home, the sisters stopped by Elk to see our dear friend and hermit, Fr. Arsenius and his beautiful parish, appropriately named Most Blessed Sacrament. Indeed it was a week full of God's goodness, blessings, love, and mercy! ​

Pray for the little ones from Magnificat Days - that they may grow in love and devotion to our Lord Who is present in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
