Franciscan Visit

O Most High and Glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my heart and give me, Lord, a correct faith, a certain hope, a perfect charity, sense and knowledge, so that I may carry out your holy and true command. - St. Francis of Assisi

"Your holy and true command", this - God's holy will - is the Sister's guiding light and motivating force. What obedience indicates is the voice of her Beloved, and He never ceases to surprise His spouses with His providence! Recently, He sent two of the Sisters to the Ohio Valley, to represent the Community at Franciscan University's Vocation Awareness Day. ​With fifty plus communities and dioceses represented, the day displayed the diversity of charisms present in the Church. The Sisters enjoyed interacting with the priests and religious in attendance and speaking with the students who explored the fair.

For Sr. Caritas Marie, the trip was a return to her alma mater, full of delightful discoveries of positive changes on campus (like the recent chapel renovations), and the joy of introducing Sr. Mary Vianney to the beautiful campus haunts. The Sisters were treated to the true Franciscan spirit - from the cheery "hellos" to the chivalrous young men who gallantly arranged for transportation and the other fine young man who graciously procured the Sisters' dinner. The Sisters even had an opportunity to meet and chat with Sr. Caritas Marie's household sisters in Madonna of the Streets!
