Campers acting out the Fifth Glorious Mystery at Magnificat Days During this summer, each of our Sisters was privileged to have the very tangible experience of being sent out as the Apostles were sent. We may not have been instructed about bringing a second tunic, but Our Lord truly did send us on mission to various places through the directions of our Superior. Enjoy the pictures and summaries of our apostolic adventures below! Our summer “Magnificat Days" is a major summer undertaking and this year it was bigger than ever before! We ran this VBS-like camp in several locations: Fort Bragg, CA; Ferndale, CA; and Kansas City, MO. The week is packed with learning about our faith, games, music class, crafts, and most importantly, Mass. With this year's theme of the Rosary, the campers learned about the different mysteries of the Rosary, made rosaries (and rosary accessories), played games with the Sisters, and ended the week with a Eucharistic rosary procession. Our Sisters were happy to be able to travel the top of our diocese and assist with the VBS camp at St. Joseph's Church in Crescent City. Locally, our Sisters taught about St. Therese to the girls at Little Flowers Camp and led them in prayer during a Eucharistic Holy Hour. During the first Diocesan Woman's Retreat in July, our Sisters led a prayer and art session. We were delighted to once again assist at the annual “Ignite NW" Catholic Youth Conference in Portland, OR. Our Sisters played, prayed, and spoke with the hundreds of youth present as well as led a few workshops for the participants. Our Sisters also travelled to Idaho to speak at the Idaho Family Camp. It was a privilege to assist the Napa Institute again this year as sacristans for the private Mass chapels. We look forward each year to assisting many priests and bishops! We love to serve wherever Our Lord sends us, but we also need to be formed! This summer, two of our Sisters had the opportunity to travel to Virginia and attend the Vita Consecrata Institute (VCI). This two-week intensive of graduate level classes for Religious was a great blessing! Our Sisters were also grateful for the opportunity to spend time with other religious sisters and brothers. Each Sister in our community is profoundly grateful for the many blessings that we experienced this summer. We pray that our efforts to communicate God's goodness, beauty, and truth by word and example bear much fruit by His grace! Comments are closed.
