Processions and Professions

Eucharistic processions and religious professions filled the beginning of this month. There were six separate events, but they all shared the same deep motive: to give a response of love to that profoundly immense love with which God first loved us. Holy Mother Church is so good in giving her children varied and diverse ways to make a return of love to the God who loved us into existence. 

On May 29th we were delighted to sing for the opening Mass of the "Camino de California", a Eucharistic pilgrimage traveling to each of the California missions. After Mass, we joined Bishop Vasa and many of the faithful in a Eucharistic procession to both the St. Francis Solano Mission and the San Raphael Mission.

May 31st was the joyous occasion of Sr. Maria Therese's first profession of vows. After almost three years of preparation and discernment, Sister made a beautiful gift of self to Our Lord in vowing poverty, chastity, and obedience.

On June 4th, the traditional date for Corpus Christi, we had the delight of participating in two Eucharistic processions. In the morning we accompanied Our Lord around our convent grounds and in the evening, we sang and led Him through the streets of Santa Rosa. 

June 6th was a day of immense joy for our community as Sr. Maria Consolata professed perpetual vows of poverty, chastity and obedience at the Cathedral of St. Eugene. The totality of this gift of self, symbolized by the funeral pall, was awe-inspiring and the Mass was filled with supernatural beauty. 

The following day, the Sisters joined the Cathedral parish in celebrating the feast of Corpus Christi. After a beautiful Mass, we processed around the Cathedral grounds with our Eucharistic Lord and visited three specially prepared shrines. 

Thanks be to God for each of these beautiful occasions to render Him praise and thanksgiving!
